BMW M4 CS Launched At Rs 1.89 Crore

The first BMW CS model to be launched in India is the M4 CS (Competition Sport), which BMW has introduced to the market. The M4 CS, which starts at Rs 1.89 crore (ex-showroom) and raises the bar for performance automobiles, is a great addition to the brand’s lineup.

BMW M4 CS: Powertrain

The 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six engine powering the BMW M4 CS is the same engine found in the normal M4. Nevertheless, a bump in turbo boost pressure from 1.7 bar to 2.1 bar allows the engine to be modified to produce 550 horsepower, which is 20 horsepower higher than the M4 Competition. The peak torque stays intact at 650Nm, however, it’s produced from 2,750rpm to 5,950rpm – 220rpm higher than the M4 Competition.

In order to ensure that the four-wheel-drive system retains its performance over extended track sessions, BMW claims to have made various modifications to the powertrain, such as an enhanced cooling system and an increased oil supply to the clutch.Because the engine mounts are more rigid, the powertrain responds more quickly.

Thanks to a titanium exhaust silencer and a number of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) parts, such as the gearbox paddles, center console, and other interior trim pieces, the CS is also 20 kg lighter. Additionally, the CS has lighter wheels—19-inch alloys in front and 20-inch ones in back. The BMW M4 CS can now accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds faster than the M4 Competition, thanks to the modifications. Electronically, the maximum speed is restricted at 302 kph. Additionally, BMW’s Adaptive M suspension is included as standard.

BMW M4 CS: Design

The M4 CS has daytime running lights that are tinted yellow, in contrast to the M4 Competition. Bronze wheels and a crimson outline are elements of the kidney grille. There is a dedicated M Mode button on the center console, and M-specific graphics are displayed on the head-up display. Additionally, the center console contains an M-specific Setup button that provides quick access to the settings for the chassis, engine, all-wheel drive, steering, and brakes.

In addition to the optional flat-bottom Alcantara M steering wheel seen in the M4 Competition, it also retains the most recent version of BMW’s curved display, which consists of a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch touchscreen running the most recent version of the BMW Operating System 8.5. M Carbon bucket seats are another feature that BMW added to the M4 CS. The M seat belts, M4 CS door sills, red ‘CS’ branding on the center console, and other features are additional highlights.
