This already stunning supercar looks even more gorgeous in this shade of blue.
De Tomaso made a triumphant return with the stunning P72, exactly 60 years after the firm was formed — and 15 years after the previous edition of the company had failed. The sleek coupe made its debut at the 2019 Goodwood Festival Of Speed, powered by a Ford V8 engine that produces over 700 horsepower (515 kilowatts).
But that was just a prototype, and now we’re waiting impatiently for the first of the 72 production models to reach the road, which should come next year. Last weekend, De Tomaso unveiled a stunning baby blue prototype on the lawn of the Concorso D’Eleganza Villa D’Este in Lake Como, Italy, whetting our thirst for this incredible supercar.
The photographs were taken by Freddie Atkins, who goes by the Instagram handle TFJJ, and show the P72 both stationary and in motion along the beaches of Lake Como. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this shade of blue on the P72; the same prototype has spent time in Florida for events like The Amelia, the Miami Concours, and others in recent years.
The baby blue exterior contrasts with the white interior, which features quilted leather on the seats and matching diamond-patterned aluminium on the steering wheel and instrument cluster. The diamond design is repeated on the aluminium gear lever as well.
