Ford, GM, and Chrysler are the three major automakers. When asked to list the best American automobiles, most automotive enthusiasts would start with these three manufacturers. We can’t blame them: the Ford Mustang, Chevy Corvette, and Dodge Challenger, to mention a few, are all icons made by the three corporations.

However, the Big Three of Detroit aren’t the only American automakers producing excellent vehicles. We’ve seen lots of wonderful American automobiles over the previous three decades or more that, although being just as good or even better than those manufactured by multinational automakers, have mostly gone unnoticed. This article looks at 10 of the greatest American automobiles that most automotive enthusiasts are unaware of.

1. Rossion Q1
The Noble M400 chassis was bought by Rossion Automotive of Florida in 2007. Rossion quickly began development on a sports vehicle based on the M400’s chassis, and the Q1 was unveiled in 2008.
The first Q1 was fantastic. For starters, it looked and felt more opulent than the M400. The Q1 has the power to match, with a Ford Duratec Biturbo V6 producing 508 horsepower.
2. Rezvani Beast Alpha
Rezvani has constructed a number of cars in the past, but they all have one thing in common: they’re all bespoke off-roaders. Rezvani’s first production vehicle, however, was not an off-roader, but rather a fantastic sports car known as the Beast Alfa.
The Beast Alfa featured the same foundations as the Ariel Atom, but a more traditional body that looked fantastic. The Beast Alfa is outrageously fast, thanks to a Cosworth-tuned 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 500 horsepower.
3. Equus BASS770
Equus Automotive has been producing the Bass770, a handmade premium muscle vehicle, since 2013. The Bass770 is one of the most expensive muscle vehicles ever produced, with a price tag of $634,000.
This price tag may appear exorbitant, yet many would argue that it is justified. For starters, the Bass770 is designed to look like a classic muscle vehicle from the 1960s and 1970s. A 640-hp LS9 supercharged V8 delivers enough power to give the Bass770 a peak speed of over 200 mph, while aluminium and carbon fibre are employed extensively to keep the weight down.
4. Panoz Esperante GTR-1
Panoz is a modest Georgia-based American carmaker with a long history of constructing racing vehicles. Panoz chose to create a racing vehicle for the FIA GT1 Championship in the 1990s, which resulted in the Esperante GTR-1.
Panoz supplied the Esperante GTR-1 with a massive 6.0-liter Ford-sourced V8 engine with 600 horsepower to fight against the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR and Porsche 911 GT1.
5. Mosler MT900
Despite the fact that Mosler Automotive was formed in 1985, many people were unaware that it went out of business in 2013. This is unfortunate, but at the very least, gearheads will be aware of the firm when they see one of its most popular models, the MT900.
From 2001 through 2011, the MT900 was a limited-edition lightweight supercar. The MT900 had a carbon-fiber chassis and a 350-hp V8 engine, which allowed it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and reach a high speed of 150 mph.
6. Falcon F7
Jeff Lemke is an American automobile designer who has always wanted to create his own company. Lemke founded Falcon Motorsports in 2009 with a single purpose in mind: to develop high-performance supercars that could compete with European choices.
The F7 was Falcon’s debut automobile, and it did not disappoint. This automobile is definitely designed for speed, with a Lingenfelter-built twin-turbo V8 engine producing 1,100 horsepower.
7. Lucra LC470
Lucra was developed by Luke Richards, an American entrepreneur who wanted to create a wonderful sports vehicle that combined American power with European agility and stylistic characteristics. The LC470 demonstrates that the company’s objectives were met.
The LC470 is a complete package. It’s one of the most gorgeous roadsters ever, for starters. The LC470 is also speedy, with a 7.0-liter V8 producing 505 horsepower.
8. Vector W8
When Vector Motors Corporation was founded in the 1970s, few people were aware of it. It was one of the most exciting American automakers less than two decades later, owing to one car – the W8.
With its Lamborghini-rivaling wedge-shaped appearance and 625-hp twin-turbo V8, the W8 debuted in 1991 and immediately astonished everyone. Only 17 W8s were ever produced, making it one of the most sought-after American automobiles of all time.
9. SSC Ultimate Aero
SSC North America, situated in Washington, was founded in 1998. About a year ago, SSC made news when their newest supercar, the awe-inspiring Tuatara, controversially smashed the production vehicle speed record. The Tuatara was often assumed to be SSC’s first model, however this was incorrect; the Ultimate Aero came before.
The Ultimate Aero is a supercar SSC that was introduced in the 2000s with the goal of breaking the production car speed record. The Ultimate Aero was a major success, since its peak speed of 254 mph smashed the Bugatti Veyron’s world record.
10. Saleen S7
Saleen Automotive has been quietly producing automobiles for almost two decades. The S7, Saleen’s first entirely proprietary automobile, emerged in the early 2000s and soon proved that the company was serious about business.
The S7 is a hand-built mid-engined supercar with a 7.0-liter all-aluminum V8 producing 550 horsepower. Saleen released the S7 Twin Turbo in 2009, with a 750 horsepower bump. The S7 Twin Turbo was one of the quickest automobiles of the 2000s, with a peak speed of 248 mph.
