The Kia Carens facelift is set to debut in India next month, with the all-electric version following two months later in June. The 2025 Carens makeover will include a drastically revamped exterior and interior. The Carens EV will most likely have a similar design, with some EV-specific tweaks.
Kia Carens EV: Exterior
Spy images of the Carens facelift haven’t revealed all of the features, but the bonnet line is taller, giving the MPV a more SUV-like appearance. The headlights and daytime running lamps are thought to be similar to those seen on the Syros, while the taillights will most likely be vertically stacked and connected by an LED light bar. The test mule features new-design dual-tone alloy wheels, although they appear to be the same 16-inch size as the previous model.
As previously said, the all-electric Carens is projected to have a similar look to the facelift but with EV-specific modifications. These could feature a closed-off ‘grille’ and aerodynamically optimized wheels.
Kia Carens EV: Interior
It remains to be seen how Kia will package the Carens EV, as the battery pack is projected to take up significant space beneath the second and third rows of seats. The EV’s interior will be similar to the facelift’s, with some trimmings and highlights to distinguish the all-electric MPV from its fuel and diesel predecessors.
Kia Carens EV: Powertrain
The Carens EV will share its motor, battery, and other components with the recently introduced Hyundai Creta Electric. The Hyundai SUV is available with 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery pack configurations, with MIDC-rated ranges of 390km and 473km, respectively. Expect the heavier Carens EV to have slightly lower results.
Kia Carens EV: Price
Prices for the Carens EV are expected to start at around Rs 18 lakh. However, the higher variants may even see some overlap with the BYD eMax 7 (Rs 26.90 lakh-29.90 lakh).
