Luxury Car Sales India H1 2022 – Mercedes Vs BMW Vs Audi

Mercedes-Benz India reported a fantastic quarter ending June 2022, as well as a triumphant H1. In the last six months, sales increased by 55.92 percent to 7,573 units, up from 4,857 units. Volume gain was 2,716 units. Sales in the second quarter increased by more than double to 3,551 units, up from 1,664 units in the first quarter. The volume gain is stated to be 1,887 units.

As of June 2022, the order book has grown to 6k units, implying a waiting period for the marquee’s vehicles. The queue for A-Class Limousine, C-Class, and E-Class is estimated to be 2-3 months, S-Class at 3 months, and S-Class Maybach S 580 at 4-5 months. Mercedes-Benz India last recorded better H1 sales in 2018, with 8,061 cars.

Q3 sales anticipated to be robust

“Q3 will be tremendously exciting,” said Martin Schwenk, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, “as we line-up some of the most anticipated Mercedes-Benz models from our worldwide range for our Indian clients, creating a completely new benchmark.”

“The majority of products are sold out,” said Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, “and we are doing our best to meet the massive demand.” The order books are completely loaded, and the pipeline for the coming months is very strong.”

BMW India continues to make significant gains toward a successful end to H1 2022. Growth was reported in all areas of business here, including BMW automobiles, Mini automobiles, and BMW motorcycles. The last time sales were this strong was in the first half of 2018, when the automaker reported sales of 5,170 cars. As of now, all three brands have announced the highest-ever H1 sales in 2022. BMW automobile sales are expected to reach 5,191 units in H1 2022, representing a 65.4 percent increase. Volume gain was 2053 units, up from 3,138 units in H1 2021. Mini car sales increased by 50% to 379 units. Car sales have increased by 64.2 percent to 5,570 vehicles.

The majority of BMW sales came from its domestically built SAV lineup. This comprises the X1, X3, X4, X5, and X7 models. In the last six months, sales volume accounted for approximately half of total sales. The 3 Series Gran Limousine and the 5 Series were also segment leaders. The Mini Countryman accounted for more than 45 percent of all sales. BMW Motorrad sales have increased by 56.7 percent to 3,114 units. G 310 R and G 310 RR sales drove rise in motorcycle sales. Motorcycles account for more than 90% of all bike sales.

Audi India H1 2022 sales

Audi India sales, though much smaller in volume were also reported at growth. H1 2022 sales are up at 1,765 units from 1,181 units.  Volume gain stood at 49 percent at volume gain of 584 units. Together the top 3 stalwarts in the luxury segment sold a total of 14,529 units. This is visibly higher than a total 9,176 units reported for the same 6 months in 2021. In the comparable period low base sales were the order of the day owing to business limitations related to thwarting the spread of Covid-19.
