The government is encouraging automakers to introduce more EV vehicles in the country. Having said that, this year, numerous brands, like Tata, Hyundai, and Mahindra, are focusing on launching newer electric vehicles! With these improvements, many automobile owners are choosing to acquire an EV as their new vehicle, but they are unaware of the dangers that surround them. What is that?
EV Problem In India
Before purchasing an electric vehicle, you need carefully consider one of the primary issues, which is the development of charging infrastructure. After purchasing an EV, you may miss out on the independence of recharging your vehicle at a widely distributed network of fuel stations. This is primarily owing to the lack of charging outlets across India, particularly in rural regions.
We recently came across a report in which a man who purchased an EV scooter in Karwar, Karnataka, went over 20 kilometers while pushing his scooter, which eventually ran out of battery. The EV owner stated that he passed past over three petrol stations and was surprised that none of them had EV charging outlets. The owner also points out that, while the government promotes and encourages new purchasers to purchase an EV, it is not taking sufficient steps to increase charging infrastructure.
So, if you’re considering of getting a new EV or currently have one, make sure to check your charges and maintain it charged to avoid such unpleasant situations.
When purchasing an EV, the main thing to consider is the range available, which will keep the owner informed about when he needs to recharge his car. Furthermore, the government is working to create new EV charging stations across the country to make it easier for new EV owners.
