Upcoming Car Launches In August 2022

The month of August 2022 is shaping up to be another busy one for the automotive sector, with four new launches planned. Furthermore, Mahindra will present five Born Electric ideas on August 15, 2022, with most of them spawning production of all-electric SUVs in the future, with the firm hoping to release as many as eight EVs by 2027.

So let’s dig into the list of upcoming car launches in August 2022

1. Hyundai Tuscon

The new generation Hyundai Tucson will be the first to be produced. The premium SUV was recently presented, and it has undergone a number of visual and interior changes. The new Tucson follows the current Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy, with a parametric jewel pattern front grille and a smoothly integrated LED lighting system. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson features sleek body panels and a futuristic rear end, as well as a new interior with high-end technologies such as ADAS, and will be released on August 4.

2. Toyota Hyryder

Toyota is set to reveal the pricing for the much-anticipated Urban Cruiser Hyryder midsize SUV on August 16, and it will be available with mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid petrol engines. The latter permits a dedicated EV-only mode, while the mild-hybrid variant will also include a 4WD system.

It will be jam-packed with features and will be priced between Rs. 9.5 lakh and Rs. 19 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the five-seater are now open, and it will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and others.

3. Maruti Suzuki Alto New-Gen

On the other end of the affordable volume car spectrum, Maruti Suzuki will launch the new-generation Alto on August 18 built on the lightweight Heartect platform. It will feature larger proportions than the current model, allowing for a more spacious cabin, and it will be driven by a new 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine.

4. Mercedes AMG EQS 53 4Matic+

Mercedes-Benz India will introduce the AMG EQS 53 4Matic+ on August 24, making it the brand’s new premium electric sedan. It will have a 107 kWh battery pack and a twin electric motor system with a maximum power output of 650 PS and peak torque of 950 Nm. It could be priced in excess of Rs. 2 crores (ex-showroom).
