The top-tier SX-Prestige trim starts at $37,445.
Kia did more than just improve the design of the Sportage for the 2023 model year when it updated it. For the first time, Kia equipped the popular crossover with a hybrid drivetrain. The non-hybrid Sportage has already been priced, and we now have figures for the hybrid.
The 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid will have a starting price of $28,545 (all prices include the $1,255 destination fee). This buys you the entry-level front-wheel-drive hybrid LX trim. In the LX model, adding all-wheel drive raises the price to $30,345. The Sportage Hybrid is available in two more trim levels: EX and SX-Prestige. Both start at $32,245 and $37,445, respectively, and are exclusively available with all-wheel drive. The non-hybrid Sportage LX starts at $27,205, while all-wheel drive increases the starting price to $29,005.

A turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine is paired with a 44-kilowatt electric motor powered by a 1.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The overall combined output is 226 horsepower (166 kilowatts), which is a significant increase over the non-hybrid Sportage base model. Its 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 187 horsepower (138 kW) and 178 pound-feet (242 Newton-meters) of torque.
The Sportage’s hybrid powertrain, according to Kia, will allow it to travel more than 500 miles (800 kilometres) on a single tank of gas. The business claims that the crossover will have a fuel economy of up to 39 miles per gallon. In addition, the crossover can pull up to 2,000 pounds (907 kilograms).

On the inside, the Sportage Hybrid is identical to its non-hybrid sibling, with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included as standard. High-beam assist, emergency braking, lane-keep assist with lane centering, and other active safety systems are among the Sportage’s eight.
The non-hybrid Kia Sportage is now on sale. The Sportage Hybrid is set to go on sale this spring, and spring officially began a few weeks ago, so the attractive new crossover should be on dealer lots shortly. Kia will also offer a plug-in hybrid version of the 2019 Sportage. However, no pricing information for that model has been disclosed by the manufacturer.
