The first teaser image of the Austral was issued by Renault in December of last year, almost precisely three months ago. We had no idea at the time that the French business would release so many teasers in order to create a significant excitement around the launch of the Kadjar successor. The complete and official debut is set for next week, and we can’t wait to see the end of the teaser campaign. In the meantime, here’s another look at the new Austral.

This time, however, it is not from Renault, but rather from our friends at Kolesa.ru, who have developed two drawings that show the SUV from practically every angle. We don’t know if these pictures were hand-drawn, but we recognise some of the Kadjar’s shapes, which are still available for purchase in several European nations.
The Austral, on the other hand, will be a completely new vehicle with a design language inspired by the Megane E-Tech Electric. However, there are some significant variations between the two cars, with the new SUV’s lighting signature being one of its most distinguishing design aspects. The new Renault logo, which is inspired by the company’s previous emblem forms, is featured prominently on the bold front fascia.

Renault is most known for its diesel engines in several European regions, but the new Austral will most likely only be available with electric gas powertrains. The new Nissan Qashqai, which will share its underpinnings with the Kadjar successor, will not be offered with diesel engines. The Austral will be available with a modified 1.3-liter 12-volt mild-hybrid engine and a whole new 1.2-liter TCe unit with 48V mild-hybrid technology when it goes on sale.
In only five days, the Austral will make its debut. The big launch is set for March 8, at which time we will learn more about the French SUV.
