Gordon Murray T.50’s V12 Sounds Better Than A Squad Of V10 F1 Cars

Gordon Murray T.50 Sounds Better Than Ever Leading V10 F1 Cars At Goodwood

Even while leading a parade of V10-era Formula One cars during the 79th Members’ Meeting at Goodwood, a vehicle has to be distinctive to attract notice. The Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 in this video is the ideal vehicle for the job, thanks to its high-revving V12.

The T.50 rolls out of the paddock at the start of the video. On the back deck, there’s a tiny light bar with flashing lighting if you look attentively. The car accelerates onto the circuit and sounds incredible right away.

The sound quality of smartphone speakers is poor. Put on some headphones or play this video on a device that can create a decent amount of noise.

The video alternates between two camera perspectives. Sometimes the viewer is looking backwards. The Formula One vehicles can sometimes be seen directly behind the T.50. At times, the classic racers aren’t even close to the supercar.

A glimpse inside the cabin is also included. The camera is positioned next to the driving wheel, pointing upwards toward the driver. You can see him rowing through the gears since the field of view is large enough. A person in the left-side passenger seat is also clutching a radio.

The T.50 is powered by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine designed by Cosworth. It has a power output of 654 horsepower (488 kilowatts) and torque of 344 pound-feet (467 Newton-meters). The redline has been set at 12,100 rpm. The engine’s weight of 392 pounds (177.8 kilos) makes it the lightest road-going V12 ever, according to Gordon Murray Automotive.

Another feature that distinguishes the T.50 is the employment of a fan to boost aerodynamics. The item is spun at 7,000 rpm by a 48-volt electric motor. The technology employs this in conjunction with dynamic rear spoilers and diffusers to boost downforce by 50% in normal driving and 100% in braking mode.

The standard T.50 will be produced in 100 units by Gordon Murray Automotive. The business will also produce 25 Niki Lauda track-only models. It will feature a diet that will reduce the weight to 1,872 pounds and produce up to 725 horsepower (541 kW) (852 kilograms).
