Honda City e:HEV Here’s All You Must Know

In India, Honda has revealed the new City e:HEV hybrid car. The new Honda City e:HEV is the first self-charging powerful hybrid automobile to be released in India, and reservations have already begun. The automobile will be on sale in early May 2022, and there is currently no direct competitor in India for the City e:HEV. While we wait for pricing, here’s everything else you should know about India’s newest hybrid car.

1. Engine

Honda City To Become India's Most Fuel Efficient Sedan

In terms of power, the engine alone produces 97 bhp and 127 Nm of peak torque, while the electric motor produces 107 horsepower and 253 Nm of torque. The overall output, however, is 124 horsepower. In reality, the automobile is up to 45 percent more fuel efficient than the gasoline counterpart, with a mileage of 26.5 kilometres per litre.

2. Design

The car looks identical to the conventional City, but Honda has added Blue Accents, an e:HEV insignia, a redesigned grille, fog light garnish, rear diffuser, and trunk spoiler to set it apart from the original model.

3. Notable Safety Features

Honda has debuted its superior automated safety system “Honda Sensing” for the first time in India with the new City e:HEV. The system scans the road ahead and alerts the driver using a high-performance front camera with a wide-angle, far-reaching detecting technology to reduce the danger of accidents. Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Auto High-Beam are some of Honda Sensing’s distinctive safety technologies.

4. Drive Modes

Honda City Hybrid 2022

EV Drive Mode, Hybrid Drive Mode, and Engine Drive Mode are the three driving modes available on the Honda City e:HEV. Based on varied driving scenarios, the car’s clever Power Control Unit (PCU) effortlessly and automatically shifts between three modes.

5. New Tech

The City e:HEV is a self-charging hybrid featuring a two-motor setup, a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, and an e-CVT (Electronic Continuous Variable Transmission). To power the electric motor, the system includes an Intelligent Power Unit (IPU) with a sophisticated Lithium-ion Battery. Thanks to brake regeneration, the battery gets charged.
