The fan event starts with a roadtrip from the LeMay car museum in Tcoma, WA, and ends in downtown Detroit at the next Mustang’s global debut.
The seventh-generation Ford Mustang will make its debut as the star of the 2022 North American International Auto Show on September 14 at 8:00 PM EDT, and with less than a month until the curtain rises, Ford is beginning to share its celebration plans.
Things get started well before September 14th. Ford is collaborating with America’s Automotive Trust and the annual Drive Home, a classic-car road trip that begins at the LeMay car museum in Tacoma, WA, and travels east to Detroit at the start of NAIAS. This year’s event will feature all six generations of Mustangs, though Ford has not specified which model years between 1964 and 2022 will lead the charge.

While Ford encourages owners to participate in the long-distance drive, it is also inviting fans to The Stampede on the day the next-generation Mustang is unveiled. The Blue Oval will lead fans to Downtown Detroit’s Hart Plaza for the big show, beginning at Ford’s global headquarters in Dearborn, MI. The action begins at 5:00 p.m. in Dearborn, and the herd departs for Detroit at 5:30 p.m. Anyone interested in participating in The Stampede can register by clicking on this link.
