2023 Ford SuperVan Pikes Peak – Ford Performance

The all-electric SuperVan 4 will compete in the 101st Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) in 2023, according to a statement from Ford. The storied hill climb competition, which has been going on for more than a century, happens close to Colorado Springs. Ford has entered a variety of vehicles in the race over the years, and this year, with the SuperVan 4, the company hopes to set new records.

The SuperVan 4 will be driven by Romain Dumas, a PPIHC record holder in 2018 with the VW ID.R. Dumas has won the Le Mans race three times and set numerous EV-powered lap records. Since his first trip to the mountain in 2012, he has taken part in the PPIHC seven times.

The Ford SuperVan 4 will be powered by an all-wheel drive system that features a 50kWh ultra high-performance cell battery, making it one of the most powerful electric powertrains in the world. The van is an excellent hill climb-capable vehicle thanks to its lightweight carbon composite body, FIA-specified roll cage, and adjustable regenerative braking. The car is the result of a five-year collaboration between Ford Performance and STARD, a company that specialises in EV and R&D.

“Both have long, storied histories that ignite the imagination of racing fans all over the world. Both have developed over time, and now is the time to test our electric vehicle technology against some of the most impressive performance cars on the planet “said Rushbrook.

The PPIHC Executive Director, Melissa Eickhoff, expressed excitement about Dumas’ participation in the race this year. She remarked that he frequently shows up in distinctive builds that are entertaining to watch and serious competitors, and the Ford Performance SuperVan 4 is sure to draw a crowd.

On June 25, 2023, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is scheduled to occur. As the motorsport competition draws near, Ford Performance will make more information about this year’s effort public.
