Hyundai i10 Facelift Arrives With Minor Changes and More Common Technology

Just last week, our spies spotted a prototype of the refreshed Hyundai i10, and now the hatchback has made its formal debut. While the styling and equipment aren’t drastically altered by the mid-cycle facelift, there are some minor upgrades and new features to the basic technology that are worth mentioning. This new i10 also features the sporty-appearing N-Line trim, which features styling cues from Hyundai’s N racing division.

The non-N-Line models are offered in nine exterior colours, two of which, Lumen Grey and Meta Blue, are brand-new for the city vehicle. You can choose to have it with a striking black canopy. New graphics have also been added to the interior of the reflector headlamps as well as the front and rear LED light signatures. Not to mention, a pair of brand-new 15-inch alloy wheels is also available. The 16-inch wheels on the N-Line model have a unique pattern.

Once inside, you’ll notice a few minor but pleasant upgrades, like new ambient lighting in blue for the front seats and a new purple trim package that includes tartan fabric seats with vertical purple lines. The stitching and air vents have received the same purple finish.

The mini hatch is pre-configured with a 4.2-inch LCD instrument panel and front and rear USB type-C connections. On the dashboard’s centre is an 8.0-inch infotainment display that includes a guidance system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and over-the-air software updates. Hyundai has improved the forward collision-avoidance assist’s ability to identify cyclists, and a new rear occupant warning prompts the driver if the back door has been opened.

There has been no mention of any technical changes, which suggests that the 1.0- or 1.2-liter three-cylinder engines will still be available for the i10 in Europe. The automaker claims that in April of this year, the updated A-segment hatch will be rolling off the assembly lines at its Izmit factory in Turkey. In the second part of this year, the first examples will be delivered to their new owners.
