BMW M 1000 R Launched In India, Price Starts At Rs 33 Lakh

BMW Motorrad has introduced the M 1000 R, a hyper naked street motorbike, to the Indian market. The motorcycle will be available as a completely built-up unit (CBU) in two variants: the basic model, priced at Rs 33 lakh, and the Competition variant, priced at Rs 38 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India). The Competition variation has certain cosmetic enhancements over the standard model, including a special Blackstorm Metallic color scheme, M Carbon wheels, and other M Carbon accessories. The motorcycle will be delivered by the brand in January 2024.

BMW M 1000 R Specs

The M 1000 R is powered by the same 999 cc inline-4 water-cooled engine as drives the M 1000 RR. The engine produces 210 horsepower at 14,500 rpm and 113 NM of torque at 11,000 rpm. Titanium valves, a revised spring assembly on the exhaust side, thinner and lighter cam followers, and optimized camshafts are all part of the engine. Additionally, BMW claims that the intake system has been optimized with variable intake funnels for improved charge exchange at high engine speeds. The motorcycle has a top speed of 280 kmph and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.2 seconds. There are five ride modes available: Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro 1-3.

BMW M 1000 R Features

The M 1000 R comes with fully adjustable suspension on both ends, with a 45 mm USD fork and a rear monoshock. The motorcycle is equipped with 320 mm twin disc brakes up front and a single 220 mm disc brake at the rear. The bike also has ABS, cornering ABS, wheelie control, and brake sliding assist. A 6.5-inch TFT screen, a six-axis inertial measurement unit, and adjustable throttle and engine brakes are among the other technological features available. The kerb weight of the motorcycle is 199 kg.
