Yamaha Announces YZF-R1 And YZF-R1M 2025 Internationally

The 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1 and 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1M have been revealed by Yamaha, and they feature a number of noteworthy changes, such as enhanced Brembo Stylema brakes, revised suspension, and carbon fiber aerodynamic winglets a la MotoGP. The majority of the chassis and bodywork are carried over from the outgoing model, with the exception of certain upgrades. The base YZF-R1 and the higher-spec YZF-R1 M, which has carbon bodywork and a higher-spec electronic suspension, are the two models that are currently available.

The 998 cc, CP4, crossplane crank, inline four-cylinder engine, which produces 200 horsepower and 113 Nm, remains unchanged. Carbon fiber winglets are added to the R1 and R1 M models, but the ordinary R1 receives additional upgrades in the form of a Brembo master cylinder, Brembo Stylema four-piston radial calipers, and a new, fully adjustable 43 mm KYB suspension.

Additionally, the R1 has a redesigned seat cover texture that should increase grip and make it easier for riders to shift their weight. The more costly 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1M has carbon bodywork and a more advanced Ohlins electronic suspension system. This suspension system uses an IMU to measure vehicle speed, lean angle, acceleration, and braking force to adjust damping in real time for the best possible suspension performance.

The R1 also features a revised seat cover material, which should improve grip and facilitate weight shifting for riders. The more expensive 2025 Yamaha YZF-R1M features an upgraded Ohlins electronic suspension system and carbon bodywork. In order to optimize suspension performance, this suspension system uses an IMU to record acceleration, braking force, lean angle, and vehicle speed. It then uses this information to modify damping in real time.

The more expensive and high-spec vehicle, the R1 M, has carbon fiber bodywork and Ohlins electronic suspension.

Track-only models, such as the R1 Race or R1 GYTR, which is a variant equipped with Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing equipment along with track-spec bodywork and exhaust, will be offered for Europe. About India Yamaha’s plans for the R1, nothing is known as of yet.
