Top 10 AWD Sports Cars

On the East Coast, it’s bitterly chilly. It was quite cold. We’re in Florida, which is supposed to be frost-free, and the wind chill on Friday morning, Feb. 20, was 29 degrees owing to the “Siberian Express,” as the Weather Channel called it.

As a result, the roads are still in winter-weather mode, and your car should be as well. Despite the fact that we are currently based in Florida, our personnel has spent decades north of the Mason Dixon line, in places like New Jersey, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and so on.

So believe us when we tell that nothing compares to the extra traction provided by snow tyres, but without all-wheel drive, those snow tyres won’t assist your car stay on the road. However, just because an automobile has good traction does not imply it cannot be attractive. In fact, a number of versions are just as comfortable without a top in the summer as they are on ice in the winter.

Fortunately, we’ve put together a list of our Top 10 AWD Sports Cars with that all-too-important drivetrain. Can you think of any more that we may have overlooked? Please let us know in the comments section below.

1. Ferrari SF90 Stradale

The new Ferrari SF90 Stradale was introduced as the Italian automaker’s most powerful vehicle. The SF90 Stradale’s powertrain, which includes a twin-turbo V8 engine and an electric motor, delivers 986 horsepower and 663 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels.

2. Porsche 911 Turbo S

The Porsche 911 Turbo S is one of the most popular and exhilarating automobiles in the company’s lineup. This AWD sports car has supercar figures including a 2.6-second 0-60 mph acceleration and a top speed of 205 mph. There’s a reason why many collectors consider the 911 Turbo S to be a must-have.

3. Nissan GT-R

The GT-electronically R’s controlled AWD technology provides something that few other AWD drivetrains can. Normally, AWD shares torque 50/50 between the front and rear wheels, but with the GT-R, the rear gets 100 percent of the torque while the front gets 50 percent. This means you can rely on AWD in slick conditions while simultaneously enjoying the feel of rear-wheel drive on drier days.

4. Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ isn’t the final Aventador model, but it is the most extreme. This supercar is a force to be reckoned with, with an AWD configuration that produces 770 horsepower and 530 pound-feet of torque.

5. Rimac Nevera

When the Rimac Nevera broke the quarter-mile time for a production car, it went down in history. This achievement was made feasible by the car’s massive 1,914 horsepower output and the fact that it is generated by four different motors. The Nevera can rocket through drag strips and circuits because power is sent to each wheel separately.

6. Audi quattro

Though it may not appear to be much from the outside, the Audi quattro was the first to deliver an AWD drivetrain to mainstream and supercar production cars when it was launched at the 1980 Geneva International Motor Show. It’s probable that none of the cars on this list would exist if it weren’t for the quattro. Audi is now attempting to resuscitate the quattro.

7. Audi R8

The Audi R8 is wholly designed and manufactured by quattro GmbH, Audi AG’s high-performance private division. The word “quattro,” which means “four” in Italian, comes from the 1980 Audi Quattro, also known as the Ur-Quattro, which was the first car to offer all-wheel drive to the general public. The R8 is the spectacular product of 35 years of research, while the Quattro was the first to provide Audi’s quattro technology.

8. Porsche 918 Spyder

It’s the next hypercar from one of the most successful car companies in history. It’s a crossbreed. It boasts a 4.6-liter 8-cylinder engine that produces 887 horsepower and 944 pound-feet of torque. It also includes all-wheel drive, as well as front- and rear-wheel drive modes. There’s nothing about this car that lends itself to a mundane driving experience; it’s all about the unusual.

9. Bugatti Chiron

As the successor to the Veyron, another truly remarkable AWD hypercar, the Chiron has been a shining star in the automotive world thanks to its abilities. Take the Super Sport 300+, for example. This AWD hypercar was the first of its kind to exceed 300 mph. That’s downright incredible.

10. Acura NSX

Acura may be retiring the NSX, a terrific all-wheel-drive sports vehicle, but they’re doing so with a bang. The NSX Type S, the most powerful NSX ever made, is the source of the bang. It also has Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel DriveTM (SH-AWD®) system.
