BMW X5 Spy Images Before 2026 Release

BMW has begun work on the fifth-generation X5 SUV, which will be on sale worldwide in 2026. Internally, the performance-focused X5 M is referred to as the G95, while the all-new X5 is designated the G65.

These spy photos released by Motor.es reveal that the Neue Klasse design language will have a significant influence on the new generation X5’s appearance; The front of the new X5 is equipped with thin wraparound headlight housings and X-shaped daytime running lights. The front bumper also has multiple circular vents and a sizable center air intake, which give the fascia a sporty appearance. It also has wide wheel arches, and the XM SUV’s quad exhaust tips really give the rear end a similar appearance. The upcoming SUV, the X5, will be heavier, bigger, and longer than the current model.

The Neue Klasse motif will also have a significant influence on the interior design. Thus, one should anticipate a simple dashboard featuring a sizable floating touchscreen and a full-width curved head-up display (HUD).

There will be three different powertrain options available: plug-in hybrid, diesel, and gasoline. The M60e xDrive version with a plug-in hybrid drivetrain is probably the one shown here. This model will be positioned in the lineup between the standard gasoline versions and the X5-based iX5 electric SUV.

A 3.0-liter twin turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor and lithium-ion battery powers the BMW X5 M60e xDrive. The estimated combined power output is 570 horsepower. There will be a standard 8-speed automatic transmission with xDrive AWD layout. With a range of about 75 kilometers only on electric power, this version of the X5 will be able to pass emissions regulations in some nations.
