Maruti Grand Vitara XL (7-Seater) Likely Launch In The Near Future

The new Grand Vitara midsize SUV from Maruti Suzuki is about to hit the Indian market. It will face competition from the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Here are all the details you should look over regarding the Indian automaker’s anticipated seven-seater Grand Vitara launch.

According to what we currently know, the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara XL will offer a similar design language and share the same mechanicals and structural underpinnings as the regular Grand Vitara. For those who are curious, the Grand Vitara has strong dynamics and is built on Suzuki’s Global-C platform.

To accommodate the extra row of seating, the wheelbase is anticipated to be longer. The Grand Vitara XL will compete against vehicles like the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and MG Hector Plus once it is introduced in India.

The upcoming 7-seater Grand Vitara will be offered with two engine options: a 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine and a 1.5L K15C Smart hybrid petrol engine. The powertrain options, however, are likely to stay the same. An eCVT gearbox is mated to the 1.5L TNGA Atkinson hybrid engine, which produces 115 bhp in total.

On the other hand, the 1.5L K15C Smart hybrid petrol engine produces 103 bhp and 117 Nm of maximum torque. This engine will be available with either a new 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox or a 5-speed manual gearbox. The new Grand Vitara XL’s official launch date in India has not yet been announced by Maruti Suzuki India, but we anticipate it to happen soon.
