Honda has been contemplating bringing the HR-V to India for several years. The five-seater SUV is now expected to arrive in India in late 2019, possibly during the festive season. The Honda HR-V is a mid-size SUV that will compete against the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks, and Renault Duster.
Honda HR V Engine and Powertrain
In Europe, the HR V is powered by a hybrid powertrain borrowed from the Insight and Accord, but in the United States, the HR V is powered by a traditional gasoline 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 158 horsepower. If that sounds familiar, it’s because the Civic’s base powertrain is powered by the same engine. The HR-V reached 60 mph in 9.4 seconds during our acceleration testing. This is more than a full second slower than the more powerful non-turbo Mazda CX-30 and two tenths slower than the Hyundai Kona’s 147 horsepower.

Honda HR V Interior
The dashboard is familiar and similar to that of the 5th generation City. The instrument cluster and steering wheel are identical to those found in City. The rest of the dashboard is similar to the City and Civic, with the same infotainment system and centre console. As a global product, the five-seater comes well-equipped in terms of features. Because it will compete with the Creta, it will have all of the bells and whistles that are expected in that segment. This includes a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, climate control, a power driver’s seat, leather upholstery, ADAS, a power tailgate, and an LED light package.
