Lamborghini Aventador Successor DMC Rendering

This is, indeed, intriguing. Renderings are typically created by people with too much free time on their hands or after being commissioned by a magazine. In this case, a tuner took matters into its own hands to unofficially preview the replacement for the Lamborghini Aventador. Recent spy shots of camouflaged prototypes served as the inspiration for DMC’s adjacent digital design exercise.

The imaginary body kit clearly takes after the Sián FKP 37 while remaining as true to the details seen on test vehicles earlier this year as possible. However, because prototypes are heavily disguised, we’re pretty sure the rendering isn’t entirely accurate. Nonetheless, it gives us an idea of how the V12 supercar will evolve to replace a model that we first saw about 11 years ago and that still looks stunning today.

The flagship raging bull will be unveiled next year, with a newly developed V12 engine with electric assistance. While the Sián FKP 37 used supercapacitor technology, the Aventador successor will most likely use a plug-in hybrid powertrain, which will add weight. Why is Sant’Agata Bolognese taking this path? Because Lamborghini, too, must adhere to stricter emissions regulations.

The silver lining is that an all-new V12 should continue to be naturally aspirated rather than turbocharged. The Aventador replacement, according to company CEO Stephan Winkelmann, will not be mechanically related to the Sián FKP 37 and will be a completely new car. He went on to say that it will have all-wheel steering in addition to AWD, active aero, and plenty of carbon fibre to keep weight down.

The new V12 machine will set the tone for Lamborghini’s electrified intentions, as every new model will be a hybrid starting in 2023. The replacement for the Huracan has already been confirmed to use a PHEV setup with a combustion engine with more than six cylinders. The Urus will also be electrified by 2024, ahead of the company’s first EV, which will be a crossover in 2028.
