Maruti Suzuki Overtakes 10-Lakh Automatic Car Sales Milestone In India

Recently, Maruti Suzuki achieved a noteworthy milestone by selling 10 lakh automatic cars in India. The top automaker currently provides four automatic gearbox options across 16 models to cater to a wide range of customers. These consist of the Electronic-Continuous Variable Transmission (e-CVT), Advanced 6-speed Automatic Transmission (AT) with paddle shifters positioned on the steering wheel, Auto Gear Shift (AGS) and 4-speed Automatic Transmission (AT). Potential customers embraced the carmaker’s 2014 introduction of the AGS technology. Currently, the company sells 65% of its automated automobiles with AGS technology installed. Although the maker’s hybrid e-CVT gearbox accounts for only 8% of its automatic sales, automatic gearbox (AT) models account for 27% of cumulative sales.
