Maruti Suzuki’s Creta Rival Vitara (YFG) To Debut On July 20 In India

Maruti Suzuki Vitara will likely be launched sometime next month in India and it will be equipped with a host of premium features

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) plans to unveil an all-new midsize SUV, one of its long-awaited models, on July 20, 2022 in India. The five-seater, which has the internal codename YFG, might be given the name Vitara as the nameplate is already well-known and the Brezza small SUV no longer uses the Vitara prefix in its most recent version.

The new Maruti Suzuki Vitara will share key features with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, which made its world debut in India just a few days ago. Both 4.3-meter-long SUVs are being produced by Toyota at Bidadi, Karnataka, and mass production will start in 2019. Before the Vitara arrives, the Hyryder will enter the market first.

The Vitara will be sold through the Nexa chain of upscale dealerships, underscoring its upscale nature, and reservations are anticipated to open up on the same day as its introduction. In the very competitive market, the midsize SUV will compete against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Nissan Kicks, and others.

Suzuki’s Global C architecture, which is also used in the S-Cross, global Vitara, and Brezza, will serve as its structural foundation. Suzuki will target overseas markets with the Vitara, which will be powered by 1.5-liter mild-hybrid and 1.5-liter strong hybrid engines and offer manual and automatic gearbox options. This is similar to how they did with the Hyryder.

The former comes from Maruti Suzuki, whereas the latter is a result of Toyota’s competence in hybrid technology. The potent hybrid Atkinson Cycle TNGA engine puts out 115 PS and allows for an electric-only mode for high efficiency, while the K15C DualJet petrol engine can generate a maximum power output of 103 PS and 135 Nm. Just as the exterior, the interior of the upcoming Vitara will also have similarities with the Hyryder. The equipment list will boast of nine-inch touchscreen infotainment with SmartPlay Pro+ tech, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, automatic climate control, cruise control, engine start/stop button, HUD, 360-degree camera, six airbags and a lot more.
