The eminent head of design at Tata Motors, Pratap Bose has decided to resign. The internal links of the company states that “Pratap Bose has decided to leave for better opportunities”. In addition to this he will proceed on leave for the remainder of his tenure. Though it is not known where Bose is headed next. He seems likely to head to a contender company.

About Pratap Bose
Pratap Bose was born and brought up in Mumbai. Pratap Bose completed his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad in 1998. He is well know for introduction of the new age of designing for Tata. He introduced the new IMPACT Design 2.0, which helped in changing the image of the company in the automobile industry. Significantly this has helped them get back in the game with modern style and with modern technology.
Hit designs like Harrier, Safari, Tiago and Nexon are ade under his vision. He was also shortlisted as a finalist for the very reputable World Car Person of the Year at the 2021, World Car Awards. Pratap Bose is the first Indian to get in such an elite shortlist. While his first design project for the company was the Safari Storme. Evidently his last project for the company was new Safari. He has also received many awards in his 14 years of career at Tata Motors.
Martin Uhlarik takes over
Tata Motors has announced that Martin Uhlarik will take over Bose’s role. He will be the new Head of Design of the company with immediate effect. Uhlarik will report to Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors. Martin Uhlarik is an experienced automobile designer. He has a 27 years long experience in the industry. He will lead the design team from TMETC in the UK.
