Top 10 Compact SUVs June 2022 – Nexon, Venue, XUV300, Kiger, Sonet

The small SUV class has been all the rage in the domestic market, and its popularity is steadily increasing, with more consumers willing to pay more than Rs. 10 lakh for their first car. It should be noted that the prices of compact SUVs have risen considerably in recent years for a variety of reasons.

Tata Nexon finished first in the compact SUV sales table last month, selling 14,295 units compared to 8,033 units in the same period in 2021, representing a 78% YoY volume increase. The Tata Punch mini SUV is positioned below the Nexon in the brand’s SUV lineup, and it finished second in the sub-4m SUV standings last month.

The Punch sold a total of 10,414 units in the month of June 2022. The Hyundai Venue just received a facelift that included a number of interior and exterior changes. The Korean SUV sold 10,321 units in comparison to 4,865 units in the same period in 2021, representing a 112 percent increase year on year.

The Kia Sonet finished fourth with a total of 7,455 units vs 5,963 units in June 2021, representing a 25% increase in volume year on year. The Toyota Urban Cruiser came fifth with 5,301 units versus 2,584 units, representing a 105% increase in volume year on year. The newly upgraded UC is likely to be released in the next months.

The Mahindra XUV300 ended sixth in the second half of the table with 4,754 units versus 4,615 units during the same time in 2021, representing a 3% YoY sales growth. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza finished seventh with 4,404 unit sales compared to 12,833 units in June 2021, a 66% reduction year on year.

The all-new Brezza was only recently unveiled, and its impact on sales will be felt in the following months. The Renault Kiger ended eighth with 3,411 units versus 2,035 units, a YoY increase of 68%, while the Nissan Magnite and Honda WR-V finished ninth and tenth, respectively.
