Yamaha has officially introduced the R3 in India, with an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.64 lakh. Bookings for the motorcycle have already begun, and delivery is expected to begin early next year.
The R3 is imported into India via CBU, which explains why it is more expensive than its competitors. The design language is now comparable to that of its larger brothers, but not as crisp as that of the R15. However, it has fewer features than the former. The new Yamaha R3 features LED headlight lighting, dual-channel ABS, and an LCD instrument display without Bluetooth. Nonetheless, it comes equipped with a slipper and assist clutch, as well as USD forks.
Yamaha R3 Engine
Yamaha now offers the R3 in two different color schemes. Blue and black are the colors. The motorcycle is powered by a 321cc parallel-twin engine that produces 40.4bhp and 29.4Nm. It is paired with a six-speed transmission.
The Yamaha R3 competes with the newly released Aprilia RS 457. The made-in-India motorcycle is reasonably priced at Rs. 4.1 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Kawasaki Ninja 400 costs Rs. 5.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The Ninja 300, which costs Rs. 3.43 lakh (ex-showroom), is also a competitor.
In terms of competition, the motorbike competes in the country with the Kawasaki Ninja 400, TVS Apache RTR 310, and KTM RC 390.
