BMW K 1600 Range India Teased Ahead Of Launch

With the BMW K 1600 GT and BMW K 1600 GTL, BMW Motorrad India teased the launch of their premium touring motorbike series. BMW Motorrad upgraded the 2022 K 1600 line late last year with new features, colour options, and an improved engine and electronics, and it now appears that the luxury touring versions will be available in India as well. BMW Motorrad provides four BMW K 1600 variants across the world. Only two of these models are scheduled to be offered in India, the K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL.

BMW K 1600 Range Engine

The 1,649 cc inline six-cylinder engine produces 158 horsepower at 6,750 rpm and 179 Nm at 5,250 rpm. The upgraded engine now produces useful power at 1,000 rpm, and two knock sensors on the back of the cylinder bank keep the motor running smoothly even when using lower-octane fuel. The functioning of the combustion chambers is monitored by two new lambda sensors, as well as the six exhaust manifold sensors.

Notable Features

Electronic traction control is now standard, and a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) assures proper operation. In comparison to Rain and Road modes, the system enables a tiny degree of rear wheel spin in Dynamic ride mode. The motorcycles also feature BMW’s newest semi-active suspension system, which has two settings: Dynamic and Road. The motorcycles come equipped with cornering aware adaptive LED lighting and a 10.25-inch TFT instrument panel with a split screen and navigation, as well as connectivity options for both helmet and smartphone.

BMW K 1600 Range Price

The BMW K 1600 GTL comes with a basic top box and has been built with pillion comfort in mind. A quickshifter, auxiliary LED lamp, engine protection bar, keyless riding, central locking system, and anti-theft alarm are all available as options on the K 1600 GTL. On the international market, BMW provides a regular GTL model as well as two style options. The models are estimated to cost upwards of Rs. 30 lakh.
