2023 Honda Pilot Teased – New Trailsport Variant Incoming

A new Honda Pilot will debut later this year for 2023, and the automaker will again offer it in the rugged TrailSport trim. The redesigned SUV, which Honda claims will be its “most rugged and capable” SUV yet, is shown in a new teaser video from a distance.

Nothing is revealed in the teaser picture. The Pilot TrailSport is too small to clearly see any of the model’s distinguishing features. The SUV’s redesign, which differs from the current SUV’s styling in that it appears more aggressive, has been hinted at in earlier spy shots. The upright front end of the 2023 Pilot will have vertical intakes pushed to the corners’ lower edges and thin headlights mounted high.

If the 2023 Honda Pilot TrailSport is similar to the 2022 model, the SUV could receive 18-inch wheels, a leather interior, other off-road touches, and unique badging. All-wheel drive ought to be the norm. For 2022, Honda introduced the Passport TrailSport, a smaller crossover with new wheels, other aesthetic improvements, and a wider track.

The powertrain under the sheet metal should remain unaltered even though the Pilot will undergo a significant interior and exterior redesign. Currently, Honda uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a nine-speed automatic transmission and 280 horsepower (205 kilowatts) in the SUV.

Honda might tweak the engine to increase efficiency or change to a 10-speed gearbox, but those are just rumours. A plug-in hybrid powertrain alternative might also be available for the next-generation model. According to persistent rumours, the next-generation Pilot will be built on the same platform as the Acura MDX. Although the interior hasn’t been revealed, it should come loaded with features and technology.

Honda announced the new Pilot’s debut in 2022 earlier this year, but the company hasn’t given a specific date. We anticipate the new Pilot to go on sale early in the following year, and off-road-focused trims like the TrailSport will aid in luring customers as the consumer craze for SUVs and crossovers persists.
