Sure, as a concept truck, but as a production vehicle? We were enraged that Ram would tease such a delectable treat. Then Ram produced it—a hot rod off-road truck that earned Truck of the Year accolades from both MotorTrend and Truck Trend right away.

The Ram 1500 TRX, which was introduced for model year 2021, has the appearance and walks the walk, and any truck aficionado knows where all the local TRXs are. The Ford F-150 Raptor is the go-to when it comes to factory-prepped go-fast off-road pickups. Ford has controlled the specialised desert market with an off-the-shelf mainstream pre-runner since its beginnings. Its beefed-modified suspension, wide fenders, and functional skidplates throughout—all fitted to the best-selling F-150 platform—add up to a highly sought-after pickup with excellent resale value.

The third-generation Raptor debuted in 2021, and it’s a dang fine-looking vehicle; the new Ford F-150’s front end, which debuted in 2021, is quite gorgeous and sophisticated.
