Audi A6 E-Tron Rendered To Imagine Production Version Of Upcoming EV

The production version will ride on Audi’s PPE platform. The concept could go an estimated 435 miles on a charge.

The production version of Audi’s A6 E-Tron concept is expected to launch later this year. The artists at Kolesa have created images of how the EV would look in showrooms as it transitions from show car to road-going vehicle.

The rendering and concept are shown in the comparison below. The design of the front fascia is the most significant alteration. The manufacturing version, according to Kolesa, will include little inlets in each corner. Here is where the show automobile has a larger, black area.

In the rendering, the grille has sharper points forming the shape of the grille. There’s a sensor in the lower fascia instead of the E-Tron branding. A tiny change is that traditional side mirrors replace the camera stalks.

The alterations are much more minor towards the rear. Taillights thicken on the edges and taper in the middle in this rendering. The concept’s lamps are the same width all the way across the tail.

The diffuser on the concept is also less aggressive than the one on the concept.

The A6 E-Tron is built on Audi and Porsche’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which will be used in future EVs such as the electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 E-Tron SUV.

The concept for the A6 E-Tron uses an electric motor to power each axle. The total output from them is 470 horsepower (350 kilowatts) and an instant torque of 590 pound-feet (800 Newton-meters). This provides an estimated acceleration to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in less than four seconds.

The design is powered by a 100-kilowatt-hour battery with a range of 435 miles (700 kilometers). The fast-charging system can deliver up to 270 kW of power. After plugging in for 10 minutes, you can travel 186 miles (300 kilometres).

Audi expects to deliver a production version of the A6 E-Tron Avant concept in 2024, following the release of the production-spec A6 E-Tron four-door. The only significant difference is the expanded roof, which provides greater cargo space for a family on the go.
