Xiaomi Rolls Out 10,000th SU7 Electric Sedan

Following the announcement of reciving over 75,000 orders for its first car, tech giant Xiaomi has revealed that it has reached the 10,000-unit manufacturing milestone for its all-electric Xiaomi SU7. The Xiaomi SU7 EV was announced in December 2023, and deliveries began shortly after, with Xiaomi claiming to have delivered 5,781 vehicles by April 28, 2024.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun recently revealed that 79% of SU7 owners regularly use ‘Xiaomi Pilot’, the car’s automated driving capability, and that 28% of orders were from female consumers. Looking ahead, the business predicts that women will account for 40 to 50 percent of the SU7’s owner base.

Xiaomi SU7 Design

The SU7 is packed with Xiaomi’s ‘Super Motor’, which the company says can reach 21,000 rpm. In its base version, the SU7 produces 295 bhp and 400 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 5.28 seconds and reaching a peak speed of 210 kmph. The ‘Super Motor V6S’ powers the dual-motor SU7 Max, which produces a combined peak output of 664 bhp and 838 Nm of torque. With launch control, the SU7 Max accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 2.78 seconds, 0-200 kmph in 10.67 seconds, and reaches a peak speed of 265 kmph.

Xiaomi SU7 Sedan

The SU7 battery parameters include a 73.6 kWh pack for the entry-level model and a 101 kWh pack for the SU7 Max. The entry-level SU7 has a range of up to 668 kilometers, while the SU7 Max increases this to 800 kilometers (CLTC). When connected to an ultra-fast charger, Xiaomi says that the SU7 Max can recharge to 220 km of range in five minutes and 510 km in 15 minutes, respectively.
