Ram 1500 Electric Pickup Rendered Based On New Teasers

With only dark teasers to go by until now, this is our best (albeit a bit speculative) look at the 1500 BEV.

With the 1500 EV, which is expected to go into production in 2024, Ram will be late to the electric pickup party. The manufacturer previously revealed that a concept previewing the actual model will be unveiled this fall, and it released another another teaser, this time focused on the vehicle’s unique LED signature from the front. The guys from TopElectricSUV collected enough information from all the teasers revealed so far to put together this rendering, giving us a look at what the finished production truck might look like. Keep in mind that this is a highly hypothetical representation, as many details, particularly in the vehicle’s lower section, are obscured in the teasers.

It will, however, have that shape greenhouse, and the hood appears to be well-replicated in the rendering. The vehicle’s flanks and wheel arches appear more pronounced in the teaser, but that is most likely simply teasing the concept (it lacks side mirrors), which might be toned down and made less aggressive for production.

And, because its manufacture is still two years away, no details about its specifications have been made available. Apart from the fact that it would be based on the STLA Frame platform for body-on-frame vehicles and will be capable of charging at up to 150 kW (according to an official announcement made in 2021), Ram has been tight-lipped.

To compete with the Ford F-150 Lightning, it would need to have at least 98 kWh in standard-range configuration and 131 kWh in long-range mode (which just went into production). Its main competitor, the Chevrolet Silverado EV (due in the spring of 2023), is said to be capable of carrying up to a large 200 kWh battery pack.

The Ram 1500 EV will be the last electric truck from the Big Three (if you can call it that now that RAM is owned by Stellantis), providing it an advantage over competitors by allowing the automaker to make modifications to its own product based on what the others have learned.
