2023 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster Debuts with 690-HP

Throughout the luxury British brand’s history, V12 power has been combined with roofless motoring. The vehicle you see here, on the other hand, is something new. This is a Vantage Roadster, but for the first time, the boosted V12 engine is available. As a result, welcome to the (deep breath) 2023 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster.

It’s a big name, but it’s backed by big power. It retains the hardtop V12 Vantage’s twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter 12-pot engine, and we’re pleased to report that nothing has been lost in the conversion to convertible. It still produces 690 horsepower (515 kW), which is handled by an eight-speed automatic transmission mounted in the back of the vehicle. It still sprints to 60 mph in 3. (Theclickreader) 5 seconds, and provided your hair can stand the breeze, it will still reach a top speed of 200 mph.

Aside from installing a convertible roof, what does Aston Martin do differently on the V12 Vantage Roadster? The only information provided by the company is a custom tune for the Roadster’s adaptive dampers. The drop-top also lacks the large rear wing seen on the solid-roof model, as evidenced by the images. However, if a Roadster buyer desires it, the wing is an option.

The rest comes across as standard-issue V12 Vantage, despite the fact that such a vehicle is anything but standard. The front body panels and side sills are made of carbon fibre. The deck lid and rear fascia are made of a lightweight composite material at the back. It shares the hard top’s widebody stance, which is 1.6 inches wider than the V8-powered Vantage. The Roadster comes to a halt thanks to aggressive ceramic brakes with six-piston callipers in front and four-piston grippers in back. They ride on 21-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

“We have worked extremely hard to ensure that the V12 Vantage Roadster has the same potency and dynamism that characterises the V12 Vantage Coupe while outperforming it in terms of raw sensory excitement that you can only achieve with roof-down driving,” said Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer Orberto Fedeli. “This is a breath-taking machine created for our most enthusiastic customers, with more power and torque than any Vantage Roadster before it, a wide-track chassis with precisely tuned suspension calibration, and up to ten times the downforce of the series production Vantage Roadster.”

Unfortunately for the general public, there will only be 249 such customers. That’s all the Roadsters Aston Martin will produce, but even if you have the money, you’re too late because they’ve all been sold. Production will begin in the third quarter of 2022 for those select buyers, with deliveries beginning by the end of the year.
