Tata Tiago Ev Confirmed, Will Be India’s Most Affordable Electric Hatchback

Tata Motors currently has the largest line-up of electric vehicles and they will be adding Tiago EV to it soon.

Tata Motors has announced that the new Tiago EV will join their EV lineup. It will be Tata Motors’ most affordable electric vehicle. The Tiago EV was first shown at the 2018 Auto Expo, but the manufacturer did not release it. Tata Motors instead introduced the Nexon EV Prime, Nexon EV Max, and Tigor EV. The Tiago EV has now been unveiled on World EV Day.

As of now, no information about the Tiago EV has been revealed by the manufacturer. When launched, the Tiago EV will be the most affordable electric vehicle from Tata Motors.

Tata is currently developing a comprehensive EV portfolio in three stages. They intend to launch ten electric vehicles in various product segments, body styles, and price points. The Tigor EV, a compact sedan, and the Nexon EV, a compact SUV, are already available. The Tiago EV will be available as a hatchback.

Tata Motors is expected to use the same Ziptron technology for the Tiago EV that they are using for the Tigor EV and Nexon EV, which is more advanced than the Xpres-T technology that was previously used for Tigor EVs in the commercial segment.

There will be no significant differences in appearance between the Tiago EV and the regular Tiago. Signature Teal Blue and Daytona Grey should be available for the Tiago EV. Both of these colours are exclusive to Tata Motors’ electric vehicles. Blue accents will be used on both the exterior and the interior.

The Tigor EV’s instrument cluster could be used. It has the same appearance as the standard instrument cluster but has been updated to show EV-related information. A rotary knob will take the place of the gear lever. The location of the batteries is unknown at this time.
