GRINCH Steals Christmas @ 192 MPH! // 1000 HP Mustang GT500

The Grinch, a fictional character from Dr. Seuss, has stolen the Christmas tree once more. The green creature beat last year’s 183 mph run in an Audi RS6 Avant and seems to switch cars every year as it continues to go faster and faster. A Shelby Mustang GT500 in the appropriate shade of Eruption Green served as his getaway vehicle. For the yearly Christmas Tree Run, the tuned vehicle was outfitted with the Hennessey Venom 1000 package.

The Grinch slaps the tree onto the car’s roof and flees after stealing it from a van at the Continental Tires Proving Grounds in Texas. Spencer Geswein, however, takes quick action and eventually recovers the vehicle. He takes the wheel of the Mustang Shelby GT500-based tuner’s second-most potent creation.

The aftermarket expert also offers a Venom 1200 package with 1,200 horsepower—you guessed it. The top-tier Mustang Shelby GT500 kit increases the supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine’s torque from 850 lb-ft (1,156 Nm) to 902 lb-ft (1,227 Nm), which is enough to move mountains.

The jacked-up ‘Stang surpassed last year’s super waggon by going 192 mph (nearly 310 km/h) with the help of its monstrous 1,000 horsepower. In recent years, the Jeep Trackhawk (181 mph or 291 km/h) and the Porsche 911 Turbo S both outperformed Hennessey’s Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody’s 174 mph (280 km/h) speed.

With the Venom F5, Hennessey should be able to smash the 200-mph barrier next year, provided the tuner will decide to use its hypercar for the 2023 Christmas Tree Run.
