2024 Maruti Swift Leaked ahead of India Launch Next Week

The 2017 Maruti Swift has been completely leaked ahead of its much-anticipated launch in India on May 9. This is the fourth-generation Swift, and as expected, it’s the same as what we’ve seen in Japan and now Europe, which is not surprising given that the Swift is the Japanese automaker’s most successful global model.

The Swift’s exterior highlights include a revised grille, wheels, headlights, and taillights. The general form remains unchanged, but it is somewhat longer than the previous model, and the rear-door handles have been moved to the doors rather than the C-pillar on the third-generation automobile.

Inside, the layout is relatively familiar, as Maruti Suzuki has preserved the majority of the older parts while adding a new touchscreen, climate control interface, and a larger colour MID in the instrument cluster. The photographs show the black-over-silver colour scheme with an orange backlight.

Variant details

The new Maruti Swift will be offered in the LXi, VXi, VXi (O), ZXi and ZXi+ trims. This is much like the current car and will be divided between two-pedal and three-pedal driving options.

Powertrain options

According to our sources, the new Swift will be powered by the internationally available 1.2-litre three-cylinder hybrid petrol engine, which produces 80bhp/111.7Nm and is connected to either a five-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. It is projected to replace the 1.2-litre K12C engine that now drives the Swift.

Rivals

The new Maruti Swift will continue to compete against the Hyundai Exter, Tata Punch, Renault Triber, and Citroen C3. However, its main opponent is the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, which received an update in 2023.
