Skoda Elroq electric SUV makes its Global Debut With Over 560Km Range

Skoda has unveiled the Elroq, an all-electric SUV, to the world. In Skoda’s global lineup, the Elroq sits beneath the Enyaq and debuts the brand’s new “modern solid” design language. This SUV, which comes with three different battery packs and unique output possibilities, is regarded as the electric version of the Karoq compact SUV.

The Elroq is the first production car to sport Skoda’s “Modern Solid” design, which offers a novel approach to the brand’s traditional design cues. Skoda has given well-known lines a new meaning, most notably with its “Tech-Deck Face.” This takes the place of the traditional radiator grille and is a glossy black plate that hides a front camera and radar among other sensors.

In addition, the new lettering representing the brand has taken the place of the previous Skoda logo, which was removed from the bonnet. Advanced LED Matrix headlights are an option for higher variants of the vehicle, although LED headlights are standard on this model. With its 36 separate light parts, the matrix system automatically modifies itself to prevent blinding incoming traffic.

The Elroq is a tall vehicle with dimensions of 1,625 mm in height, 1,884 mm in width, and 4,488 mm in length. Its long wheelbase is 2,765 mm. It comes in nine distinct paint finishes, including a brand-new, limited-edition color called Timiano Green, and weighs 1,949 kg. Wheel diameters range from 19 to 21 inches, with styles that are “aero-optimized.” The back of the vehicle has a taillight design that is quite similar to other Skoda vehicles.

A head-up display, a small digital instrument cluster, and a 13-inch central infotainment display are included in the cabin’s equipment. Conforming to Skoda’s image, the Elroq has 48 liters of in-cabin storage along with a number of ‘Simply Clever’ features including coin holders, umbrellas in the doors, and a net to hide the charging wire under the parcel tray. The Elroq also boasts a 470-liter boot, which the manufacturer claims can be expanded to 1,580 liters when the back seats are folded down.

The Volkswagen Group’s MEB modular electric car architecture is used in this model for the third time. The Skoda Elroq will be offered in four models worldwide: the Elroq 50, 60, 85, and 85x. Three distinct lithium-ion battery capacities are available for these variations. With a 55 kWh (52 kWh net) battery, the entry-level Elroq 50 is said to have a range of more than 370 kilometers. There are 310 Nm of torque and 168 horsepower from its rear-mounted motor.

The mid-spec Elroq 60 has a 63 kWh (59 kWh net) battery that is supposed to give it a range of more than 400 km. It is also rear-wheel drive. It has a maximum speed of 160 kmph for both the 50 and 60 versions, and it generates 201 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque.

The largest 82 kWh (77 kWh net) battery is included with the more expensive Elroq 85 and 85x models. With a rear motor producing 545 Nm of torque and 282 horsepower, the Elroq 85 is said to have a range of more than 560 km. With a top speed of 180 kmph, the Elroq 85x adds a second motor to the front axle for all-wheel drive capability. With the support of fast charging, an Elroq at a DC fast-charging station can charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes.
