Now a days many OEM companies launching their old iconic versions with modern requirements. i.e. EV, Hybrid vehicles. Companies like TATA, Mahindra, Maruti has good hold of Indian automobile market. Lets see what are Top 5 ICONIC Indian cars that will or made comeback!

1.TATA safari

TATA safari

The Tata Safari is a mid-size SUV. Indian manufacturer Tata Motors produced it since 1998. TATA motors discontinued it in 2019. Engine was 2.0-litre Peugeot XD88 turbodiesel unit with 87 PS 64 kW power. It came with a synchromesh forward five-speed manual gearbox, with a 4WD option.

The Tata Safari is powered by an FCA-sourced 170PS/350Nm 2.0-litre diesel engine, that drives the front wheels via a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. A turbo-petrol engine could join the lineup later. The new TATA safari expected to launched on 22nd Feb 2021.

2.Mahindra THAR

First generation Mahindra THAR was launched in the Indian market on October 4, 2010.Three variants-DI 2WD, DI 4WD, and CRDe, are available with soft-top versions. The Thar also comes with a seven-seater option. Though it can converted into a 2-seater. 2.5 L NEF TCI-CRDe I4 turbo diesel engine and manual 5-speed transmission.

The second generation Thar was revealed on August 15, 2020. It comes with two engine options, a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-lit. diesel. Both are offered with a choice of 6-speed automatic transmission (torque converter gearbox) or 6-speed manual transmission. Customers have the option to choose between a hard top and soft top or soft top with convertible. It is 6 seater car.

3.Maruti Gypsy

Maruti Gypsy manufactured in India by Maruti Suzuki. It was introduced in the Indian market in December 1985 with the 970 cc F10A Suzuki engine and while sales were never very high it became very popular with law enforcement. It was codenamed MG410, which stood for ‘Maruti Gypsy 4-cylinder 1.0-litre engine’. Initially, it is only available as a soft-top. A bolt on hardtop later introduced to the public after the hardtops became popular. The carbureted F10A engine made 45 bhp (34 kW; 46 PS) and was make to a 4 speed gearbox. The 4WD transfer case had two speeds.

What Gypsy is for India is Jimny for other world. Jimny is series and Gypsy is model in series.

In Auto Expo 2020 Maruti Suzuki show cased Fourth generation Maruti Jimny . Manufactured in India, but Maruti not revealed the date and price. . Indian version could get a 5-door layout. Jimny expected to launch in Europe markets by end of this year. Further in Asian markets. Expected to launch in year 2022 in India.

4.TATA Sierra

TATA Sierra

The TATA motors introduced Tata Sierra in the year 1991. It is the first off-road SUV produced by the Indian company. The body of the Sierra is 3 door. The Sierra, however, the Sierra is not a great success, neither in India nor in foreign markets, and in 2000 it comes out of production replaced by Tata Safari.

Tata Sierra EV is presented by TATA motors in Auto Expo 2020. Tata Sierra EV is likely to feature a further developed version of the Ziptron EV powertrain for a range of around 400 km on a single charge. The production specifications model may arrive with diesel and petrol variants before the EV. Expected to launch in January 2022 with.

5.Mahindra KUV100

Mahindra KUV100

Mahindra & Mahindra manufactured and designed KUV100. It is compact SUV. This SUV launched in 2016. Petrol and diesel variants are available.

Mahindra Motors is planning to launch Mahindra e-KUV100 in the year 2021 as they showcased this model in the AutoExpo 2018. the e-KUV100 can offer a range of 147 km in a single charge.
