The Porsche 959 was the world’s fastest street-legal production car. Its 2.95-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine produces 450 HP. It also gets a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive. All these come together to make an all-rounder sports car. In its sport trim, it could do 0-60 mph in just 3.6 seconds !! 5. Porsche 944
Another one of the legendary supercars from the 80s. You might be knowing the 911, but not the 944 (Unless you are an enthusiast). It is the evolution of the 924 and a true next-gen Porsche. It got a turbo version of the 2.5-litre engine that generated 217 HP and large multi-piston Brembo brakes in the 1986 update. In 1987, the power was raised to 187 HP. It has a well-enjoyable GT performance with good looks and comfort to match. Between 1982 and 1991, a total of 1,63,192 cars were produced which made it the most successful sports car in Porsche’s history before the Boxster/Cayman and 997 Carrera were introduced.
6. De Tomaso Pantera
Pantera stands for Panther in Italian. This model proved to be one. It is the company’s most successful model with more than 7000 manufactured during the 20-year production run. This mid-engine sports car gets a 5.8-litre V8 engine that makes 330 HP. The sportier GTS variant generates 345 HP and 451 Nm of torque. The top speed is 174 mph.

7. BMW M1
Most BMW cars look simple but have the performance to match high-level sports cars. The M1 is no exception. It gets a 3.5-litre engine that generates 273 HP and 330 Nm of torque. Its top speed is rated at 162 mph. The car also has its championship i.e. the BMW M1 Procar Championship. It is also the first mid-engined BMW to be mass-produced.
8. Toyota MR2

10. Ferrari Testarossa
Talking of Miami Vice, the star of the show was the white Ferrari Testarossa. It gets the 4.9 litre Ferrari Flat-12 engine and a five-speed manual transmission.
