All New Kia EV5 Globally Unveiled

Kia will unveil the production version of its all-new Kia EV5 SUV at the 2023 Chengdu Motor Show. The production version of the new electric SUV keeps the concept’s boxy and upright form characteristics from earlier this year. The Kia EV5 also shares many stylistic cues with the brand’s bigger flagship EV, the EV9.

All New Kia EV5 Looks

Beginning at the front, the electric SUV receives a full-width light bar with L-shaped LED DRLs positioned at the corners of the primary headlamp unit. The sides of the SUV are minimalistic, with only the front fenders and rear haunches visible. The production version of the EV5 also has traditional side mirrors, as opposed to the concept’s camera-based wing mirrors. The rear maintains the sleek look with a full-width LED tail light and an integrated roof spoiler. The SUV is mounted on production-ready aero wheels with a distinctive design.

The Kia EV5’s interior keeps the concept’s twin-screen configuration on the dashboard, but the seating arrangement has been altered. The front passenger seat, on the other hand, has an expanded base that covers the center tunnel and may be used as a booster seat. The Kia EV5 will have all the bells and whistles in terms of technology and amenities. Among these are mood lighting, different upholstery choices, wireless charging, and smartphone connectivity, to name a few.

All New Kia EV5 Power

BYD’s LFP Blade battery pack will be used in the upcoming Kia EV5. The technical characteristics of the powerplant, however, have yet to be published. Kia has also yet to reveal the EV5’s measurements, while sources estimate it might be roughly 4,600 mm long with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. The EV5’s kerb weight will be less than 2 tonnes.
