India’s two-wheeler manufacturers have made available the sales data for September 2024. Prominent brands such as Hero MotorCorp, Bajaj, TVS Motor Company, and Honda Two-Wheelers have all demonstrated favorable growth in comparison to their September 2023 performance. Bajaj AutoÂ
In September 2024, Bajaj Auto recorded total sales of 4,00,489 two-wheelers, including exports. Compared to the same period last year, when the brand sold 3,27,712 copies, this represents a 22% gain. Sales of two-wheelers sold domestically increased by 28% year over year, while exports increased by 13%. With 1,984,125 sold, the two-wheeler YTD data likewise showed rise of 12% year over year.
TVS Motor CompanyÂ
TVS Motor Company saw a 20% year-over-year increase in sales to 4,82,495 units in September 2024 as compared to September 2023. Sales of two-wheelers as a whole increased by 22% over the same period, with 471,792 units sold. Sales of two-wheelers in the country increased by 23%, hitting 369,138 units in September 2024. In addition, 28,901 electric vehicles (EVs) were sold, representing a 42% increase in sales. Additionally, the company shipped 102,654 two-wheeler units in September 2024, a 19% increase in exports.
Hero MotocorpÂ
Hero MotoCorp sold 6,37,050 scooters and motorbikes in the previous month. This is a 19% year-over-year gain. The corporation sold 3,054,840 units in total between April and September of 2024, a 10% increase over the same time the previous year. In addition, the company’s exports have increased by 30% so far this year.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter IndiaÂ
With cumulative sales of 5,83,633 units, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India saw a y-o-y gain of 11%. This comprises 47,242 units of exports and 5,36,391 units of domestic sales. In comparison to the same period previous year, exports increased by 34% while domestic sales increased by 9% year over year. HMSI’s YTD sales from April to September of 2024 included 2,76,958 units of exports and 28,81,419 units of domestic sales.
