Documents Needed When Driving Two-Wheeler

Documents You Must Carry For Bikes In India

Having the necessary documentation and having them in your possession at all times is a crucial aspect of automobile ownership. These documents should be kept current and available in the event of an emergency. These documents are useful at all times – for claiming insurance, obtaining motor licences, and so on. A fine could be imposed if someone is caught riding without the required documentation. As a result, bike owners must be aware of the paperwork they must carry.

1. Registration Certificate

The RC verifies that the motorcycle is registered with the Regional Transport Office. It comprises information such as the vehicle’s category, the operating range, the chassis and engine number, as well as the amount of fuel used and the capacity. The RC registration must be renewed when a certain amount of time has passed. It is prohibited to travel without an RC.

2. Valid Driving License

The DL licence certifies the type of vehicle that can be operated – four-wheelers, three-wheelers, two-wheelers, and so on. After passing a driving licence test, the driver is given the DL. It also serves as proof of the vehicle’s ownership. After the expiration date, this should be renewed. If someone is caught driving without a valid driver’s licence, they may be punished!

3. Insurance

Insurance

According to the legislation, an insurance policy should be one of the rider’s most important documents. The paperwork includes information such as the insurer’s name, the vehicle’s registration number, the kind of coverage, and the policy’s expiration date. Third-party Bike Insurance is one of the policy kinds available.
Bike Own-Damage policy includes a comprehensive two-wheeler coverage as well as various add-ons.

4. Vehicle Fitness Certificate

While travelling on the road, the two-wheeler should be in top shape. The RTO examines the vehicle’s fitness; if any errors or problems with the emission levels are discovered, the certificate will not be issued. It is illegal to travel on the road without this certificate.

5. PUC Certificate

Emissions are a significant source of pollution in the atmosphere, and they must be controlled. This certificate specifies the vehicle’s emission level. This amount should be consistent with the government’s specified limit. The emission control policy is updated on a regular basis. If the PUC certificate is about to expire, the owner should renew it right away.

6. Rider’s Medical Certificate

There is a 50-year age limit after which drivers will be forced to present a medical certificate whenever they are asked. A registered practitioner who has assessed the individual’s fitness to operate a two-wheeler should sign the medical certificate.
