Most of us have done dubious things behind the wheel of a car on occasion, but the driver of an older-generation Porsche 911 made a series of poor decisions in a short amount of time. After seeing the footage, the Florida State Highway Patrol is still investigating the event, which occurred after the driver abandoned the sports vehicle.
The collision occurred on I-4 between Maitland and Altamonte Springs in Florida on Wednesday, April 20th. The dashcam in the footage shows the 996-gen Porsche 911 blowing the doors off the car before nearly sideswiping the k-rail. At that time, it appears like the Porsche driver would salvage the car, but that is not the case.
After executing a 360-degree spin at highway speeds and appearing to regain control, the driver seems to continue on the throttle, loses control entirely, and crashes into the barrier despite some opposite lock.
While we can’t confirm that the Porsche was street racing, it’s worth noticing that a customised Honda Civic Type R zooms up on the shoulder behind the Porsche not long after it enters the picture. In fact, when the Porsche spins off, the Honda nearly collides with another car that has stopped on the side of the road.

In an interview with Fox News, Adam Ibrahim, the individual who captured the event with his dash cam, claimed, “There were two people in the Porsche and they’re both OK.” “In fact, they were nearly smiling,” says the narrator. They didn’t seem to notice what had just transpired.”
It’s all the more heartbreaking when the 911 driver comes so close to rescuing this 996 by driving it into the wall at the end. After first losing control, the individual behind the wheel seemed to have lost their cool, even after the automobile had reduced to a tolerable speed.
The bad decisions didn’t end at street racing in the presence of other automobiles or failing to stop the car without crashing into a concrete barrier. Witnesses reportedly claim that the driver limped the Porsche 996 to a nearby gas station before abandoning it.
“A witness came in and informed us where we might find the Porsche at the Race Track on Lee Road, but there was no driver and nobody nearby,” Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Lt. Kim Montes told the television station.
What a disgusting way to sully an otherwise spotless 911 and what would have been a spotless criminal record before to this.
