When Ford unveiled the latest Mustang Shelby GT500 a few years ago, it featured the most powerful supercharged V8 ever installed in a production car. In standard form, it produces up to 760 horsepower (567 kilowatts) and 625 pound-feet (847 Newton-meters) of torque.
Hennessey Performance, on the other hand, takes it a step further with its flagship Venom 1200 upgrade. The Texas tuner was able to extract a 58 percent boost over the factory engine output, making this Mustang one of the most powerful muscle cars ever produced by Hennessey Performance.

The Venom 1200 upgrade for the standard Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 includes a larger 3.8-liter supercharger, a high-flow induction system, new fuel rails and injectors, and an air/oil separation system. Furthermore, the package includes upgraded fittings, lines, belts, and tensioners, as well as a recalibrated flex fuel engine and dual-clutch transmission to cater to the hypercar level of power output.
The end result? The Hennessey Venom 1200 Mustang GT500 now produces 1,204 hp (898 kW) and 902 lb-ft (1,223 Nm) of torque on E85 or race fuel, after being calibrated and road-tested on Hennessey’s in-house dynamometer. The previous Hennessey-tuned Mustang GT500 we saw only had 1,000 horsepower.

In addition to the engine upgrades, the Venom 1200 Mustang GT500 has unique exterior badging and a special serial-numbered plaque. Hennessey Performance will only build 66 units, with a starting price of $59,950 and a comprehensive 1-year/12,000-mile warranty.
Meanwhile, Hennessey offers an optional upgrade to the historic 1966 24 Hours of Daytona Ford Mark II GT40 red, white, and black livery shown in the gallery above. The option costs an extra $4,950.
