Hero MotoCorp has unveiled its newest commuter scooter model, which is exclusive to the Indian market. The Xoom, pronounced “Zoom,” is a scooter that combines sporty styling with accessible performance at a price that most daily riders can afford. Let’s go over the Hero Xoom’s key specifications.
The Hero Xoom has a more athletic design philosophy than the other scooters in Hero’s model lineup. The LED headlights and taillights add a futuristic touch, and the bodywork is relatively aggressive, with many angles and edges. The side panels, for example, have creases that nicely emphasise the proportions of this commuter scooter, giving it the illusion of width. The Xoom has also been outfitted with five-spoke alloy wheels.
On the performance front, this commuter scooter clearly prioritises efficiency. Its engine is a single-cylinder 110.9cc air-cooled unit that produces 8 horsepower and 6 pound-feet of torque. The Xoom, by comparison, has the same motor as the Maestro scooter. The Xoom and its rider are supported by telescopic front forks and a single rear shock. The braking system consists of a front disc and a rear drum setup. Brakes are installed on the 12-inch alloy wheels.
LED lighting, an LCD with Bluetooth connectivity, a USB connector, and Hero’s i3S technology are among the technological features of the Xoom. The smartphone compatibility of the Xoom enhances its functionality, giving you access to call alerts, SMS, phone battery alarms, low fuel indicators, theft alert, find-my-parking, and track-my-vehicle features, which are especially useful for tech-savvy people. For added convenience, Hero includes a light in the Xoom’s under-seat storage area.
Three models—the LX, VX, and ZX—of the Xoom are available from Hero. The functionality and color choices of the three trims vary. Hero sells the VX in three colors and the ZX in four, however the LX is only offered in one color. The Xoom LX is listed at Rs 68,599—around $840 USD, while the VX and ZX are priced at Rs 71,799 ($879 USD) and Rs 76,699 ($939 USD), respectively.
