Hyundai New Creta Launch Extended to 2024 – Report

The redesigned Creta makeover was supposed to be unveiled at the 2023 Auto Show, however that did not happen. Instead, at the 16th edition of the Indian Auto Expo, Hyundai disclosed the pricing of the Ioniq 5 and displayed the Ioniq 6 and Nexo FCEV. Hyundai has also announced that the Creta facelift would not be available in our market until 2023.

Hyundai Creta Interior Design

It was expected that Hyundai might unveil a facelift for the Creta, which is currently on the market in Indonesia. However, the business has stated that it is working on a whole new model for the Indian market. This is the primary cause for the new Creta SUV’s delayed arrival in our market.

Hyundai hasn’t released anything about the new Creta’s appearance or interior upgrades. The new Hyundai Creta for India is expected to have its own distinct style and will not likely share the front design with the Tucson or the facelifted variant for sale in select international countries. The new model is expected to include all-new bumpers, a new front grille, new taillights, and new alloy wheels. The India-spec vehicle will very certainly get a new digital instrument console, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, and new seat upholstery.

ADAS Technology
Hyundai has previously indicated that it would incorporate ADAS technology into the majority of its existing models in our market. The next-generation Hyundai Verna, which is set to be released in the coming months, will also include ADAS capabilities. The 2019 Hyundai Creta will also have sophisticated driver assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking, frontal collision avoidance, blind spot monitoring, lane assist, and more.

1.5L Turbo Petrol Engine in the New Hyundai Creta

Instead of the previous 1.4-litre turbo engine, the new Hyundai Creta will have a new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. This engine might potentially benefit from a moderate hybrid system to improve fuel economy. The new engine has a power output of 160PS and a torque output of 260Nm. It will be the most powerful engine in its class, outperforming the Volkswagen Group’s 150PS, 1.5L turbo petrol engine. This engine might be available with a 6-speed manual transmission or a dual-clutch transmission.

A 115bhp, 1.5L normally aspirated petrol engine and a 115bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel engine will also be available. All three powertrains will meet BSVI Stage 2 emission standards, which go into effect in April 2023.
