Mahindra XUV 900 Gets 210 HP Diesel Engine – Report

2024 Mahindra XUV 900 Based On The XUV Aero Concept

Upcoming Mahindra XUV 900 which is expected to be lauched in India by 2024. Now, according to media report, XUV 900 will likely be powered by a 2.2-litre four-cylinder mHawk diesel engine with a twin-scroll turbocharger which is capable of producing maximum power of 210 bhp and the same powertrain could be found under the hood facelifted XUV700 as well in the future.

In detail, the report also mentioned that this could be the last generation of the diesel from home grown SUV expert priorities petrol and electric vehicles considering need of eco-friendly mobility solutions. Although, in the recent report suggested that the said diesel engine was tested in three different states of tune.

This Aero Concept XUV will be part of a host of new launches until 2026 and this XUV is showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. After launch this SUV will stand above the XUV 700 in the brand products line-up. Although this car will be styling in different way (SUV Coupe styling), this SUV is inspired by the Mercedes Benz GLE Coupe.

The Mahindra XUV 900 will share plenty of common with recently launched XUV700 as the hood, front and rear fenders, doors and some interior elements will be similar and is expected to be introduced only in 2024. Codenamed W620, the XUV900 will make do without suicide doors seen in the concept and the first design prototypes are ready allegedly.

The Mahindra XUV 700 officially lauched last month which is powered by 2.0-litre four-cylinder mStallion petrol engine is already in use in the XUV700 and it develops 197 bhp maximum power and 380 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, XUV 900 could also get same transmission option which is six speed manual & six speed torque converter.
