The largest automaker in India by sales is Maruti Suzuki. Recently, a new Maruti WagonR model was introduced. The new model has many new features despite having a very similar appearance to the previous one. Additionally, compared to the current model, the 2022 Maruti WagonR facelift offers significantly better mileage. On February 25, 2022, the updated model with a starting price of Rs 5,39,500 was released in India (ex-showroom). According to recent reports, Maruti Manages To Sell More Wagonr than many well-known vehicles, including the Tata Tiago and Tigor. Let’s look at it!
WagonR Sales
There is still a cult following for the Maruti WagonR in India. It was the best-selling vehicle in the nation in H1 2022, selling 1,13,407 units. In the same period last year, it had sold 94,879 units. This results in an increase in sales of 19.58 percent. The 2022 Maruti WagonR facelift outsells the Maruti Swift, which is currently in second place with 91,177 units sold. In fact, the tallboy has sold more than the combined number of Tata Tiago (28,619 units) and Tigor (23,759 units). Even in July 2022, the Tiago and Tigor each sold 6,159 copies, while the WagonR sold 22,568 copies.
Overall, the Indian market saw growth in H1 2021 of 17.51 percent. In the first half of this year, 14,86,309 cars were sold overall. Nevertheless, the first half of this year saw a decline in sales for a number of automakers (compared to the H1 2021). Maruti Suzuki, on the other hand, is excelling and is in first place. It currently has 7 models among the top 10 selling automobiles in the nation. The top three models are the Maruti WagonR, Swift hatchback (91,177 units), and Dzire compact sedan (85,929 units).

Maruti Suzuki WagonR Details
LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+ are the four variant choices for the 2022 Maruti Wagon R. The 1.0-liter next-generation K-Series dual jet, dual VVT petrol engine (66bhp/89Nm) that powers the LXI and VXI variants is available in manual, AGS, and CNG configurations. The CNG version provides torque of 2.1Nm. The 1.2-liter K-series dual jet, dual VVT engine (89 bhp/ 113 Nm) in the ZXI and ZXI+ models, on the other hand, has Idle Start-Stop technology and is available in manual and AGS configurations. The five-seater vehicle has four speakers, a 7-inch Smart Play Studio, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, a front seat belt reminder, a high-speed alert system, and rear parking sensors, among other features.
