Maruti has recently released the Maruti Suzuki Car Sale report. In December 2023, Maruti Suzuki sold 1.36 lakh automobiles overall, 26,884 of which were exported. Additionally, sales of goods to other OEMs are included in the figures; 4,175 units in all.
As of CY23, Maruti sold 17.08 lakh automobiles nationwide, with 2.69 lakh of the sales coming from exports. These figures topped the year’s total sales at 20.31 lakh units, in addition to the 54,493 units it supplied to other OEMs during the year.
The small sub-segment, which includes the Alto and S-Presso models, witnessed a decline in Y-o-Y sales from 9,765 units in December 2022 to 2,557 units in December 2023. With models including the Baleno, Celerio, Wagon R, Ignis, Swift, Dzire, and Tour S, the compact sub-segment also saw a decline in December 2023, going from 57,502 units to 45,741 Y-o-Y.
There was a decline from 1,154 units to 489 units in the mid-size class, which includes the Maruti Ciaz, and from 10,581 units to 10,034 units in the van segment, which includes the Eeco. The Utility Vehicles category, which includes the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Jimny, S-Cross, and XL6, was the only one to grow. The number of units in this section increased from 33,008 in December 2022 to 45,957 in December 2023.
