Hyundai car sales in India for December 2023 have been officially released by the Korean automaker. The automaker has reached a significant milestone by selling over 6 lakh units in fiscal year 2023. In terms of monthly sales, the brand increased by 10% to 42,750 units in December.
In fiscal year 2023, Hyundai managed to sell 7,65,786 cars across 13 models. This represents a 9% increase over the 7,00,811 unit sales in 2022. Notably, total sales include both domestic and foreign sales.
Tarun Garg, COO of HMIL, commented on the milestone, saying, “In the momentous year of 2023, Hyundai Motor India witnessed a watershed moment by achieving its highest-ever domestic sales of 6,02,111 units, achieving a respectable 9% growth over LY sales volume.” HMIL has not only maintained pace with, but has outperformed, industry growth (estimated at roughly 8.2 percent), a testament to customers’ preference for the Hyundai brand as their chosen mobility brand. Also in 2023, we proactively increased our annual manufacturing capacity by 50,000 units to accommodate rising client demand.”
In other developments, Hyundai has begun accepting reservations for its upcoming Creta facelift for a nominal fee of Rs. 25,000. The model will be introduced in the country on January 16, 2024.
